Parking and Traffic
Expect heavy traffic in the Rose Bowl Stadium area from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. on that day. Parking lots will open at 8:00 a.m. for game day parking. Overnight motor home parking in Brookside Park will begin at 12 noon on January 2.
Parking shuttle service for ticket holders will be in effect. Barricades will be in place, as is standard practice for major events. The barricades will be stored curbside due to the short time frame between the 100th Rose Bowl Game and the BCS National Championship Game. Clean-up of Rose Bowl adjacent streets will occur within 48 hours of the event.
BCS National Championship Fan Fest
The Fan Fest will be held in Area H (south of the stadium) beginning at 9:00 a.m. on January 6, 2014, and will end at 4:00 p.m. Fan Fest is free of charge, but fans will need a game ticket to enter. Musical performances will occur between the hours of 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m. Sound checks for this event will occur on Sunday afternoon, January 5, 2013.
Activity and Security in the Arroyo
The Arroyo will be closed to recreational use from 4:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on January 6, due to heavy inbound and outbound traffic for the football game.
As the Stadium begins preparations for the game, the Arroyo Seco will be active later in the evenings than usual. As the game draws near, activity at the Rose Bowl will be almost around the clock. With the load in of equipment and other logistical items, there will be a need for heightened levels of security, resulting in limited access in and around the Rose Bowl.
The Rose Bowl Stadium has recently partnered with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Pasadena Police Department, and the Tournament of Roses in the "If You See Something, Say Something" awareness campaign. The "If You See Something, Say Something" campaign is a nationwide campaign to raise the public's awareness of indicators of terrorism and emphasizing the need to report suspicious behavior to the proper law enforcement authorities.
If you witness a crime in progress or other emergencies, call 9-1-1. For non-emergency matters, including activity that you believe to be suspicious, call the Pasadena Police Department at 626-744-4241.
