A Pasadena organization that offers continuing liberal arts
education to adults of the San Gabriel Valley is seeking new members
in the Linda Vista area.
The Pasadena Area Liberal Arts Center (PALAC) is an outgrowth of
a Ford Foundation research project begun in the 1950s to discover
effective ways to continue education through the use of lay leaders
trained in group discussion techniques. It is now celebrating its
50th anniversary.
Most groups meet once a week for 4 to 8 weeks in the homes of
volunteer hosts. The sessions are led by volunteer members trained
as discussion leaders.
Nine groups are scheduled by PALAC this summer. To become a
