If you missed the news that Pasadena City Hall is about to
undergo a $93 million renovation/seismic retrofit, be aware that
for three or more years, Pasadena City Council will hold its weekly
Monday night meetings in the multi-purpose room of the Pasadena
Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St.
The move to new quarters affects most of city government and its
340+ employees.
The majority of city offices will relocate to the old Chamber
Building at 117 E. Colorado Blvd. in Old Pasadena (northwest corner
of Colorado and Arroyo Parkway).
Municipal Services (payment of utility bills and parking tickets,
animal and business licenses), will move to a temporary modular
building near City Hall. Housing Office staff will move to Fair Oaks
Renaissance Plaza at 665 N. Fair Oaks Ave.at Orange Grove Blvd.
Telephone numbers will not change.
Work on the historic 77-year-old City Hall will begin in October.
If all goes as planned, the move back to City Hall will take place
in June 2007. The building’s historic exterior will remain intact
and will be restored to its original 1927 condition.
